Nigel Jeffery MRICS (retired) has over forty years’ experience developing commercial and residential property in the UK and Scandinavia. A focus has been on building sustainable homes that utilise the latest design technology, including solar power, rainwater harvesting, timber-frame structures, high insulation and air-source heat-pumps.

Cedar Close

An early example was a Boultbee joint venture project in 2013 at Cedar Close, Carshalton where we opted not to have a mains-gas connection and incorporated air-source heat pumps with under-floor heating and high insulation.

Our Home

In 2024, we transformed our own energy-inefficient 1960’s terraced house by first removing the gas connection. Then, as part of a make-over, we added high thermal insulation to all the external walls and flat roofs, replacing all single-glazing with double-glazing.  The old gas boiler has been replaced with a Samsung air-source heat pump linked to a new under-floor heating system, and we have installed solar PV panels on the flat roof linked to a 9.5Kw GiveEnergy battery, iBoost HW heater and EV charger via a management system and smart meter.
